Thank you to parishioners and the Santa Ynez Valley community for helping us make Christmas a reality for struggling Santa Ynez Valley families. Through the Christmas Basket Program, gifts and a food box were provided to 159 local families with minor children. All proceeds from the program went directly to the families. This is our 14th year for the Christmas Basket Program.
Many helping hands with one heart from dozens of Valley organizations, businesses and hundreds of individuals worked to make a real difference in our community by helping local families. Individuals, groups, organizations and businesses adopted a family while others provided financial donations to assist with the purchase of food for the families. We witnessed the community come together with one heart or purpose - to help families in need.
To help with next year's Christmas Basket program, financial donations which are tax deductable, are accepted throughout the year. The Christmas Basket Program is a Santa Ynez Valley Community Project coordinated by Old Mission Santa Inés Parishioners, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Conference at the mission and the Hospitality and Community Care Ministry.
